Here’s an excellent challenge to step out of your comfort zone! Hopefully this post will challenge and make you think about your safe harbors. I know it made me think about mine!

The Abuse Expose' with Secret Angel


Yesterday I heard someone speak who gave this quote…

“A ship is safe in harbor, but that’s not what ships are for.”—quote by William Shedd

This person continued to give the analogy of children being ships; the parents’ home as being the harbor; the parents as being the lighthouses; the teachers being the Coast Guard who guides these children as they get older. This person continued to say that children get into their own boat as they get older and have to make their own choices.  The Lighthouse is there, the Coast Guard is there, and the harbor is there, but these boats have their own decisions to make in which direction that they want to go…

Well, my thought was that not only are our children like boats, but we are all ships sailing in the night…
